Education: |
MBA, Georgia State University |
· Designed and implemented six complex product platforms in four separate organizations, enabling millions in new product revenues. Running on distributed architectures, these products processed massive amounts of real-time data, and provided intuitive user experiences on the web and desktops. Designed organizations for productivity and efficient communication, and staffed the teams with top-notch talent.
· Established a company subsidiary in Valparaiso, Chile for software development, quality assurance, IT, and operations support. This nearshoring operation grew to over 40 employees, saving the parent company over $2.0 Million each year when compared to equivalent US-based resources. Also negotiated and received over $400,000 in foreign investment incentives from the Chilean government.
· Successfully installed Agile development methodologies into three organizations, ensuring on-time deliveries that satisfied customer requirements. Also reorganized a troubled software department, which resulted in clear lines of responsibility and improved morale. Consistently achieved employee retention rates exceeding 95%.
· Achieved an early, high-quality delivery of an important product enhancement for a global financial services firm. The project carried an extremely aggressive timeline due to a need to process millions of financial records during the 2008 economic crisis.
· Deployed a robust IT infrastructure, providing real-time data to a worldwide audience. This platform contains over 200 servers operating in four separate data centers, one of which is embedded within a major wireless carrier. All four centers were configured for lights-out operation, and can be supported from anywhere in the world.
CORPORATE EXPERIENCE
Software and Nearshoring Consultant (May 2008 – present)
TransUnion -- Atlanta, Georgia
· Successfully implemented significant enhancements to TransUnion’s Automated Decisioning System, which enables businesses to determine the creditworthiness of their customers and sales prospects.
· Created a key subsystem that interfaced with an Oracle database and other components, involved high-speed XML and XSLT processing, and was written entirely in platform-independent C++.
· Delivered early on an aggressive timeline, with a high-quality implementation.
Arcato Global LLC -- Atlanta, Georgia
· Established a consulting practice providing software and technology services for domestic and international projects.
· Specialized in Web 2.0 technologies, enterprise applications, and custom software solutions – and provided software development services in C++, Linux, databases, and open-source web frameworks.
· Leveraged an extensive network of contacts and experience in Chile, helping clients to establish "near-shoring" operations (often accompanied by substantial foreign investment incentives from the government). Vice President – AirSage (continued from previous page)
· Established C++ and web development centers in Montreal, Canada and Valparaiso, Chile -- which secured highly-skilled technical talent with lower costs and higher employee retention rates.
· Transformed the organization from a “startup” software shop into an operational entity with redundant data centers, effective technology deployments, and a nationwide presence. Participated in financing rounds.
· Directed the legal formation of the operating subsidiary in Chile, managed the build-out of office space and IT infrastructure, applied for and received over $400,000 in foreign investment incentives, staffed the organization, and served as the General Manager of the child corporation.

· Reviewed sales proposals, and synchronized product development to customer implementations.
· Managed a challenging installed user base containing multiple product releases, and ensured prompt restoration of mission critical system failures.
Director - Product Development (October 1995 – December 1998)
Advance Technology Corporation -- Atlanta, Georgia
